How to motivate yourself and
others to peak performance
Now,
for the first time, Justin presents the acclaimed seminar he developed
for the Academy for Chief Executives in the United Kingdom. This is
what Academy Chairman, Eric Peacock has to say about this program:
'When
Justin Cohen addresses the motivational agenda he gets to the part of
us that others don't reach. He role models passion and connection
providing compelling insights with tools to ensure implementation. A
tour de force on leadership!'
About the program
Leadership of others starts with
leadership of self. Research shows that self-mastery predicts over 60% of
leadership success. The essence of self-mastery is the ability to motivate
yourself. The essence of leadership is the ability to motivate others. In this
program, your people will acquire the tools to do both. There are three core
modules that will be covered in a period of four hours.
Module
1: How to harness the magic of motivation
What
are the psychological drivers of success? A Harvard study found only one key
factor present in the star performers in sport, business, art and science - motivation.
The problem is, for most people motivation is like a hot bath – it goes cold
quickly. This session will
provide your people with the tools for self-motivation. Delegates will learn to:
- Lead and motivate themselves
long after the presentation is over.
- Lead others through the power of social motivation.
-
Shift from self-defeating pessimism
to rational optimism.
-
Manage adrenalin and serotonin
– the brain’s chemicals of success.
- Take and keep taking passionate
action.
- Turn setbacks into stepping-stones.
- Discover the four keys to unlocking any door to change.
With a combination of cutting edge research, humor,
entertaining stories and practical take-home tools, Justin will help your
people to mobilize their motivation for success.
‘After Justin
came to speak to the optometrists, turnover has doubled.’
Tanya
Peche, Sales Manager, EDCON
‘Justin delivered a powerful message that will have a
long lasting effect on our people. We are experiencing early returns on our
investment with a clear increase in sales numbers.
Raymond O’Neil, MD, HSBC
MIDDLE EAST
‘Justin is an unforgettable speaker! A
year later our delegates still talk about his presentation. The content
translated extremely well into Russian. We hope to see him back in the Ukraine soon!’
Nataliya Sergiyenko, Director, HumanTech,
Publica
Module 2: How to motivate anyone to do (just about)
anything.
In module one the focus was on self-motivation in module two
we discover how to motivate others. Here delegates will discover that the art
of leadership is not getting people to do what we want done. This is the
Jack-ass practice of leadership that requires the constant presence of carrot
and stick. The art of leadership is getting people to want to do what we want done. When they want to do it for
themselves they become self-motivated. As a leader we can inspire that desire through
the kind of relationship we build with them. People will be lead by people who
they know, like and trust. This session will help anyone to build that
connection.
Your people will learn ten key leadership-building skills:
- The Zulu principle of Ngiyakubona or
positive recognition
-
Translate a vision into practical steps
- Provide critical feedback without being hated for it
- Resolve conflict by responding
instead of reacting
- Raise performance by expressing positive expectations
- Make
it right rather than be
right
'Justin has the rare talent of combining humour,
wisdom and business acumen in such a manner that it leaves the audience
rejuvenated, motivated and ready to accept life’s challenges.'
Koos Engelbrecht, General Manager:
Human Resources, BKB Ltd
Your phenomenal presentation exceeded our
greatest expectations and clearly those of the delegates. Yours were the
highest ratings.'
Danél
Bosman, Event Manager, Siyanqoba Seminars
Module 3: How to lead change using the power of positive habits
When all is said
and done, more is said than done. Without implementation personal or business
development sessions lead to insight without action. Aristotle famously said:
‘We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.’ All lasting change is a change in
habits. Master your habits and you master your destiny. In this final module, delegates
will get tools to convert the insights of the previous two modules not just
into action but into long-lasting behavioural change. They will learn to:
- Use the Awareness/Action Change Matrix™ to lead people through the four stages of change
- Use the
Pain/Pleasure Change Motivator™ to sustain
their motivation and the motivation of their teams through each stage.
- Program themselves out of bad habits
like procrastination
- Program themselves into good habits
like prioritisation
- Use the Habit Master™ to drop
or adopt any habit
